Cookie Policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a harmless text file that is stored in your browser when you visit almost any website. The purpose of a cookie is to allow the website to remember your visit when you return to browse that page again. Although many people are not aware of it, cookies have been used for over 20 years, since the first web browsers for the World Wide Web appeared.

What is NOT a cookie?

It is not a virus, a trojan, a worm, spam, spyware, or a pop-up window.

What information does a cookie store?

Cookies do not usually store sensitive information about you, such as credit card or banking details, photographs, ID numbers, or personal information.

The data they store is of a technical nature, such as personal preferences, content customization, etc.

The web server does not associate you as a person, but rather your web browser. In fact, if you normally browse with one browser and try accessing the same website with another, you will see that the website does not recognize you as the same person, because it is linked to the browser, not the individual.

What types of cookies exist?

Technical cookies:
These are the most basic and allow, among other things, the identification of whether a human user or an automated application is browsing, managing sessions, access control, etc.

Analytics cookies:
They collect information about browsing behavior, such as the most visited sections, products viewed, time of use, language, etc.

Advertising cookies:
They allow advertising to be displayed based on the user’s browsing behavior, country of origin, language, etc.

What are first-party and third-party cookies?

First-party cookies: are generated by the website you are visiting.

Third-party cookies: are generated by external services or providers such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc.

What happens if I disable cookies?

To help you understand the impact of disabling cookies, here are some examples:

  • You will not be able to share content on social networks.
  • The website will not be able to adapt content to your preferences.
  • You will not be able to access personal areas (such as “My account”).
  • You will not be able to make online purchases.
  • Preferences such as language, currency, or location cannot be customized.
  • Website analytics regarding visits and usage will not be available.
  • You will not be able to post comments, content, or ratings.
  • Personalized advertising will not be displayed.
  • Some social media features may not function properly.

Can cookies be deleted?

Yes. Cookies can be deleted and also blocked, either generally or for a specific domain.

To delete cookies from a website, you must go to your browser settings and locate those associated with the domain in question and proceed with their deletion.
